Are you a rule follower or a rule breaker?

Does your answer to that depend on the context of the rules?

When it comes to "rules" for our health and wellness, I prefer to look for and anchor to principles instead.

The principles of how our bodies are designed to function and heal are true -- no matter what exterior "rules" may come and go with time, ideas, and study.

Truth: water is essential to life; our bodies MUST have water.

Rule: six glasses per day? eight glasses? one gallon?

Principle: drink enough water to turn your urine a light-colored yellow.

It is also important to note that as you age, your thirst mechanism works less efficiently. Older adults need to pay more attention to the color of their urine to see if their water intake is adequate. - Dr. Mercola
