Breaking Up With Sugar

Statistically speaking, seeing as we're 3/4 of the way through the year, if you live in the USA, you will have already consumed an average of 114 pounds of sugar.

...and will consume an average of another 38 before the ball drops welcoming in 2022!

That's right, the average American consumes 152 pounds of sugar in one year. This is equal to 3 pounds (or 6 cups) consumed in one week!

Does that make your teeth feel gritty and your stomach and joins ache reading that?

It does mine.

The biggest culprit of sugar intake in people ages 12-50?

Sugary drinks. And I'm not talking about kool-aid.

Almost half (46%) of the added sugars, and the largest source of added sugars for all age groups - what we're drinking!

Our theme this month inside of My Cattail Club was "Breaking Up With Sugar" and to help combat the sugar intake via hot drinks,

I was thrilled to include in the Deluxe Experience boxes the cleanest, purest Matcha from Japan, along with a frother to make the texture of the drink richer while creating a fun taste experience!

So instead of mold and sugar riddled coffee for the morning drink or afternoon boost, we invested in our health with energy-giving, skin-clarifying, hair-and-skin-supporting, metabolisms-boosting matcha. Froth optional.

Do any of these sound familiar to you?

  • late night snacking
  • weight gain
  • low energy
  • body pain
  • PMS
  • brain fog
  • mood swings
  • sugar cravings
  • acne
  • poor digestion
  • snacking, like....always

These are several of the common symptoms of sugar and sugar addiction in our lives. Focusing our efforts just on the symptoms alone will never be enough.

Our best approach, in essentially all aspects of life, is to ask, "What's causing this? What is at the root?"

Breaking up with sugar is SO much more than a diet (that is not sustainable), and if you've been around Cattail Life land for any length of time, you KNOW I'm not about deprivation!

In my friend Dani Daem's "Tree of Sugar Freedom", the common roots of the symptoms (branches) listed above are

  • connection with self
  • limiting beliefs
  • fear of failure
  • trauma
  • fear of success
  • lack of or poor quality sleep
  • feeling unworthy
  • identity
  • gut health
  • values
  • self-love
  • people pleasing
  • lack of trust
  • emotional health

Women go on diets, push themselves in a state of deprivation for as long as they can, self-sabotage, and then whirl down a shame spiral of punishment in desperation to lose weight.

Friends, there. is. a. better. way.

You're worth it.
It's possible.
It does require some work - but the work is HEALING.

Healing those deeper roots so the branches and fruit of your life are those of freedom and health.

When you're ready, we'd love to have you join us in My Cattail Club.
